Disappointed

I don't know guys,

This is my first MW and so far I'm not impressed. I felt I've been misled by all those hype and ads....

The graphics are awesome, no doubt. Maps are super cool and the game play is good. The perk and points system is a bit complex for me, but I know I'll catch on sooner or later.

I love the guns and the way they feel and sound when you fire them and all those gadgets and cool killstreaks BUT......

I can't deal with the chat system being SOOOOOOO poorly done. I've played enough to know that it's not the connection or server because I've played on three separate occasions with Ric, Boo, and Steve and we can barely communicate over the mic. Other's player's voice just comes out as static and rings during the game. I basically have to mute everyone.

The other thing that bothers me is directional sounds are poorly done. I use to be able to hear footsteps in blackops and tell how close they were to me and where (direction and up or down). IN MW3, I hear them but they are all over the place. Footsteps and sound directions aren't accurate at all! Therefore not useful. I've got a super good tritton gaming headset too!

I miss the effects of bodies getting blown up and just the animation of movements in black ops. MW3's animation and timing of the movements are just slightly odd and not refined. The movement to toss a nade and the arm animation is weird....

Oh and you CAN"T turn off the background music in the game! This and the voice chat are the two biggest issues that I have with the game! Everything else will just take getting use to, I don't think I can get over these two items though...

I don't know perhaps I've played too much black ops and being overly critical. Perhaps it's because of all the hype being that this is the greatest and it's not.....hehe...

Anyhoo, I wanted to hear what do you all think? Boo, you mentioned that your voice chat sounded just like black ops, how is that possible? Last night when we were in the lobby, you came across OK (choppy and ringie but OK). During the game, I can not even make out what you were saying at all, it just sounds like static and rings....

I see some areas where mw3 is better than blackops but some areas that just doesn't make sense....

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you. Later when I was playing with Josh and Steve I've noticed it more what you've described regarding the chat system and audio. But I guess the audio is pretty disappointing. I didn't notice this as much before as I was playing with the volume down.

We should all send complaints to infinity ward & activision for such mess-up...

Not sure if you guys noticed.. but everyone I killed someone I could hear them curse at me over my bluetooth. LoL

Yeah, same here. Voice chat was pretty much useless. Boospeed was trying to tell me to add him as friend, I couldn't even guess what he was trying to say.

As long as they're aware and are working on it.

I also just found out that there's no unlimited sprint. I love to run and gun. I don't usually have the patience to camp, but this really sucks.

I think that's my only gripe..so far.

there is extreme conditioning allows you to sprint 2x times longer

Yea, totally agree that the chat and audio is very annoying not able to understand what the team is saying. tonight i had fired a Launcher at someone and the moment it exploded, my whole sound system just screamed and rang real loud for a while. Must be a glitch. Eventually it died out but i didn't want to fire another one.
Hope they come out with a patch real soon and fix the whole chat/audio program.

not liking the game so far, can't play more than 30 min at a time. but I will keep playing since I paid $100 for the game.

Guys.. it's really not that bad. Just don't use the audio chat until they get that fixed.

Worst case we can all go back and play MW1, MW2 and Black Ops, heck maybe even World At War... LoL

If you guys want to try something new.. Battlefield 3 is an option.

You complainers sound like a bunch of junior high school kids who are baffled, shocked, and "disappointed" that the new teacher does things differently than the old one.

I'm loving MW3 so far. Although some of that has to do with being bored with Black Ops after 200+ hours of playtime. There is little, if anything about the actual gameplay that seems worse to me compared to Black Ops. Voice chat, lobby protocol, music volume, etc. are great/wonderful/whatevers. but they aren't the main reason we bought this game.

Also, we don't have to look at emblems of crudely drawn pornography when we play.

I AGREE, I AM KINDA OF DISAPPOINTED BY MW3, I EXPECTED MORE, BUT IT FEELS LIKE MW2 EXTENDED VERSION, ITS MW2.5 - NOTHING DRAMATIC CHANGE THAT "WOW" ME OVER MW2 & BLACK OPS, I GUESS IT IS OVER-HYPED, THERE ARE JUST A LOT OF MINOR THINGS IN MW3 I AM DISAPPOINTED IN. HOWEVER, I WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY MW3 BECAUSE THE TEAM IS PLAYING, SO I GUESS I WILL PLAY MW3 AS WELL, WHENEVER I CAN PLAY THOUGH, CUZ THE TEAM IS PLAYING. I WILL SUPPORT THE TEAM, BUT I CONCUR WITH YOU GARY, "IT AIN'T ALL THAT".

We all have hardened. Wouldn't be right if you have softened.

I would probably still get the harden, metal cd box is kinda of cool...maybe not $50 bucks cool but kinda cool.. listen to the kitty.

why then, don't we all return and go back to play Black Ops?

I like the game now, it's more fun when we win. And carrying one weapon class over to the next prestige will help advance in rank, that should be fun.

I thought it was fun from the beginning.. just didn't like the bad audio chats and game lags.

When there is all sorts of air support the game gets a bit crazy.

MOAB (25 kills)

The MOAB (Mother of All Bombs) is a hidden killstreak available with any Strike Package. It's earned by getting a 25 killstreak, not including Strike Package kills. The MOAB works pretty much like the Tactical Nuke from Modern Warfare 2; it kills every enemy on the map and causes an EMP-effect for the enemy team by eliminating all enemy equipment, electronics and killstreaks for 1 minute.

The MOAB doesn't end the match. The team that uses the MOAB will have double XP for the remainder of that match.

I think it's 25 kills not including killstreak kills, which I don't think I did.
